What is a hyperlink?

Simply put, a hyperlink is clickable text that takes you to a new webpage.

How do you insert a hyperlink into a Wordpress blog post?


1) Type the text that you want to use for your hyperlink into the post’s content area.

2) Highlight the text.

3) Click on the hyperlink button in your toolbar.

4) Copy/paste the address that you want the hyperlink to take you to into the “Link URL” textbox.

4b) Other options

  • Target: Specify whether you want the link to open in a new window or not.
  • Title: The text that appears when your mouse hovers over the hyperlink.
  • Class: Ignore this for now.

5) Click on Insert.
