Finish Tutorials

Students will continue working through the “Scratch programming tutorials” that they started on Wednesday. Students should be reminded to save each tutorial into the corresponding “Lesson” folder in the “Y:\” network drive.

The 6th graders were not here on Wednesday, so they should be instructed to sit next to someone for assistance.

Learn scratch

Each tutorial will be saved into the Y:\ drive into folders that correspond with each Lesson (i.e. Lesson 1, Lesson 2, etc.)

Include your name in the filename when saving your project into each folder.

We will do the first couple tutorials together.

Primary – Create a Music Video!

Stage 1

The intial stage of this project will involve searching for images to go with the music video. Students will use the following site to find their images:

Students will follow a 4 step process:

  1. Read - read a line from the song lyrics
  2. Decide - what types of pictures will best illustrate this line?
  3. Search - use keywords to find the pictures
  4. Save - save the picture into a shared location on the network.

MS – Fairy Tale Project “wind down”

Great job on all your hard work in putting together the Audacity Fairy Tale Project recordings! We will end this project by posting your audio clips to your blogs (everyone in each group will post their group’s .mp3) We will also be listening to each other’s recordings in class. But first, let’s start by completing a survey to reflect on the project and your team.

Overview

Students will learn/practice cut/copy/paste skills using shortcut keys by completing the following worksheet.

Lesson Area

Discuss what cut/paste is and what copy/paste is. Discuss which situations require which function. Brainstorm the benefits of using these functions. Brainstorm the detriments of using these functions.
