Students will look at pre-made pictures of mother/daughter & mother/son to get some ideas for their pictures.

Activity

Students will use Tuxpaint to create their pictures.

Students will brainstorm adjectives about their mothers.

Activity

Students will open wordle.net and type in the adjectives they choose (from the brainstorm session) and type them into the program.

Students will click OK to generate the word cloud.

Setup

• Write the title of the lesson on the whiteboard.
• Students meet on the colored mat.

Lesson

• Students will be painting a Birthday cake using the Tuxpaint program.
• Brainstorm things that go on a birthday cake.
• Draw an example picture on the whiteboard, or display the one below on the projector.

Start the Activity

• Dismiss students to their seats and have them wait for you to log them in.
• Have the students click save when they are finished with their drawings.

Extra Time

• Students can go to any of the links in the “Internet Shortcuts” folder on the desktop.
• Students can doodle anything in Tuxpaint.
